BloomBoard’s Graduate-Level Credit Offering
BloomBoard has partnered with a select group of accredited higher education institutions to provide teachers with the opportunity to receive non-degree bearing graduate-level credit for micro-credentials earned on BloomBoard. This enables educators to leverage their micro-credentials experience to improve their practice and earn salary advancement or re-certification.
This article answers commonly asked questions about BloomBoard's offering and documents the application process for each of our university partners.
Graduate credit is currently available for some micro-credentials on the BloomBoard platform, with additional credit being added regularly. To view the current list of micro-credentials that each university partner provides grad credit for, scroll down to each partner below (or click a link above).

BloomBoard’s graduate credit partners have identified the credit value associated with micro-credentials based upon the university’s term structure. See table below.

Will the graduate credit I earn from the micro-credentials help me move up on my district’s pay scale?
BloomBoard has partnered with accredited universities to offer non-degree bearing graduate credit for the express purpose of helping educators advance on their pay scale, as well as renew a license or certificate. Educators are encouraged to confirm with their employer that the credit associated with a micro-credential will be accepted once it is earned.
Can I use these credits to earn a master's or other graduate degree?
The graduate-level credit that BloomBoard's partners issue is non-degree bearing which means the issuing university will not apply them to a degree or degree program at their institution. It is at the discretion of the institution to accept credit from another college or university.

Why doesn’t every micro-credential have graduate credit?
BloomBoard is working as quickly as possible to provide at least one credit option for every micro-credential.

If I apply for a micro-credential but it isn’t granted, can I still apply for and earn graduate credit?
No. Graduate-level credits are only offered for micro-credentials that have been awarded. If your micro-credential submission is not awarded, we encourage you to review the feedback from your assessment form, incorporate it into your practice, and apply for the micro-credential again.

Brandman University Credit Process
Brandman University is a private, nonprofit institution accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission. For additional information regarding Brandman’s Extended Education offering, please visit www.brandman.edu/exed.
Upon successful completion of courses, the participant will receive graduate-level professional development credit. These credits are not part of a degree program but instead are primarily used for professional advancement such as salary increment steps and re-certification. Educators should seek approval of appropriate district or college officials before enrolling in these courses to satisfy any degree, state credential, or local school district requirements. This credit may be applied toward a degree program at the discretion of the accepting institution.

- Select Select graduate-level professional development credit approved BloomBoard micro-credentials (MCs) that you are interested in earning.
- Confirm Confirm with your employer that the graduate-level professional development credit associated with the selected MCs will be accepted once they are earned.
- Earn Gather the required micro-credential evidence and submit to earn the MC.
- Apply Click here to open Brandman University’s registration and payment process. Step-by-step instructions are provided.
- Complete Once registered, forward the micro-credential completion email that you received from BloomBoard to exeddocuments@brandman.edu so that a “pass” grade can be posted.
- Receive Brandman posts the grade on their system and then emails the educator a confirmation that they have received a grade. The educator can order a transcript when needed.

Through its Center for Professional Development (CPD), Fresno Pacific University offers independent study courses to help meet the ever-increasing demand for professional growth for K-12 educators. Fresno Pacific seeks to integrate theory and practice through innovative strategies, and to encourage professionals in informed reflection on values that inspire the highest standards of professional and ethical behavior in the pursuit of excellence in their chosen field, in order to bring transformation to society.
The courses are graduate level, professional development units that are not part of a degree program, but instead are primarily used for professional advancement. They are not to be used for undergraduate credit or athletic eligibility.

- Confirm Confirm with your employer that the graduate-level credit associated with the selected MCs will be accepted once they are earned. Fresno Pacific University graduate-level credits are non-degree seeking units.
- Earn Gather the required micro-credential evidence and submit to earn the MC.
- Apply
- Click here to access Fresno Pacific's registration portal and select the course associated with the micro-credentials that you have earned.
- While on the course specific page, click on the ADD TO CART button, which will add the course to your Cart.
- Click MY CART in the upper right corner and proceed through the checkout process.
- Complete BloomBoard provides confirmation that the educator has earned the micro-credentials.
- Receive
- Fresno Pacific posts grade on their system.
- Fresno Pacific emails educator a grade report that acts as confirmation that they have received grad credit. Educator may also click on Final Grade Report via their login at the Fresno Pacific site to view their grades.
- Educator can order a transcript when needed.
