Assessment Theory of Action
BloomBoard strives to provide learners and faculty with timely, accurate assessment and high quality feedback to support learner success and ensure a positive learner and faculty experience.
BloomBoard Assessment
BloomBoard believes that analytical assessment results in the most consistent and objective assessment, is part of the learning process, and provides targeted and constructive feedback to support learners' demonstration of competency. BloomBoard Assessment has shown to achieve an average of 85% calibration, which is considered highly calibrated based on industry standards.
- Please note, if you are completing courses through a university partner, BloomBoard Assessment provides an initial assessment only, similar to a graduate assistant. Faculty are responsible for the final assessment and feedback.
BloomBoard utilizes a highly calibrated AI model for AI-assisted artifact assessment. This sophisticated model reviews all unit context—rationale, vocabulary, learning activities, and instructions—before assessing evidence against requirements. It quickly provides highly accurate assessment and high-quality feedback, performing on par with human assessors.
A significant benefit to learners is speed. Learners receive assessment results and feedback in under an hour. This fast turnaround means you can reflect on feedback and update your evidence sooner, accelerating your demonstration of competency. See the "Expected Time for Submission Assessment" Support Article to learn more about the assessment window.
- Please note, if you are completing courses through a university partner, please reach out to your assigned faculty member for questions regarding the expected time frame for assessment.
If you have a particular concern, please email support@bloomboard.com and provide the Unit Title, Artifact, Part, and if needed, also include the Prompt or Requirement number, and we’ll have a member of BloomBoard’s Assessment Team take a look.
