Professional learning is a collaborative experience and we recognize that participants may choose to work with their peers to develop the skills required to earn a micro-credential. While we encourage and support collaboration, it is important to note every submission must be unique and demonstrate the individual competency of the participant who is submitting it.
The following guidelines will help you as you work towards earning a micro-credential:
Work collaboratively with peers by constructively exploring and testing out ideas.
- Competency-based PD allows you to move towards mastery and practical application of the skill.
- Practicing the competency is helpful in gaining mastery.
Develop and gather evidence of your competency and share with peers for constructive feedback against rubrics in the micro-credential.
- While you may absolutely work together (or co-plan and co-teach a lesson) the work you submit should be unique.
- Your portfolio of evidence (written and uploaded) should be in your own words.
Submit your own individually developed / created portfolio of evidence (written responses, annotations, and collected artifacts).
- Remember your submission should be meaningfully distinguishable from other submissions.
- If you are co-teaching or co-planning, submit different lessons and evidence of individual implementation to demonstrate your individual competency.
Do not submit any evidence that is identical or near-identical of another educator’s submission.
- The submission process is anonymous, so each submission must represent a unique and authentic portfolio of evidence.
- Submissions will be denied if identical or near-identical evidence is submitted.
