All participants who are submitting evidence as part of a micro-credential submission or sharing evidence with other participants using BloomBoard's collaboration tools should follow their respective organization's policies regarding academic integrity and plagiarism. In addition, please see the following excerpt from our Terms of Use referencing academic integrity.
User Conduct
All participants are asked to agree to BloomBoard's Terms of Use when first logging into their account. The excerpt below is taken from the User Content section.
You understand that the Service and the Site are available for your personal and internal business use only. You represent, warrant and agree that no materials of any kind submitted through your account or otherwise posted, transmitted, or shared by you on or through the Service will violate or infringe upon the rights of any third party, including copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity or other personal or proprietary rights; or contain libelous, defamatory or otherwise unlawful material.
When submitting your micro-credential for review, participants will also be asked to agree to BloomBoard's Student Privacy and Academic Integrity policies.
BloomBoard's Plagiarism Policy:
In cases where plagiarism is flagged, BloomBoard determines whether the submitted artifacts and/or text are plagiarized by utilizing plagiarism-detection software. Any evidence considered plagiarized may be deemed non-eligible evidence for purposes of earning a micro-credential.
1st Violation
Participants will be notified through assessment feedback in the BloomBoard platform when plagiarism is present in their evidence and the artifact/requirement will be assessed as Not Met. Additionally, participants will receive a notification through BloomBoard support outlining how their submission contains plagiarism and the next steps for resubmission.
Any evidence containing plagiarism must be fixed and the participant will need to resubmit their portfolio in order to move forward with the assessment process and earn the micro-credential.
2nd Violation
Participants will be notified through assessment feedback in the BloomBoard platform when plagiarism is present in their evidence and the artifact/requirement will be assessed as Not Met. In addition, participants and their organizational leaders will receive formal communication from BloomBoard Support alerting them of the second occurrence of plagiarism.
Any evidence containing plagiarism must be fixed and the participant will need to resubmit their portfolio in order to move forward with the assessment process and earn the micro-credential.
3rd Violation
Participants will be notified through assessment feedback in the BloomBoard platform when plagiarism is present in their evidence and the artifact/requirement will be assessed as Not Met. In addition, a member from the BloomBoard team will request a meeting with the participant’s organizational leaders in order to assess the participant’s future participation in the program.
Any evidence containing plagiarism must be fixed and the participant will need to resubmit their portfolio in order to move forward with the assessment process and earn the micro-credential.
Please note, if a participant reaches a third plagiarism violation, their participation and access to BloomBoard may be at risk.
