As an Admin for your district, progress monitoring is an important metric to utilize for supporting your candidates as they work towards their certificate or degree. BloomBoard Reports include all of the information you need to track this progress as you offer them the support they need to meet their goals.
We have included some tips below for monitoring candidate progress. If you have questions or concerns about where a candidate should be at a given point in the semester, you can always contact your Program Manager or Senior Learning Strategist.
Viewing Candidate Progress:
Follow these steps to view all of your active candidates for the semester:
- Log in to your BloomBoard account and navigate to the "Manage" option in the left-side navigation bar. Click the down arrow and choose "Reports".
- Use the “Select Provider” dropdown to choose the university. This field will auto-populate if you have candidates attending only one university.
- Click the “X” button in the “Degree Name” field. This allows you to view candidates across degrees.
-
Navigate to the “Learner Progress” tab. This view provides a table view of completion percentages for candidates. All headers are also sortable when clicked.
General Pacing Guidance:
We typically suggest that candidates should complete one unit a week to stay on pace to finish their coursework by the end of the semester. This can vary, however, based on how many units your candidates are taking in a given semester.
The best way to determine if your candidates are on pace is to:
- Review the total number of units your candidate is taking.
- Compare that number of units to the semester length (7, 8, or 16 week term).
For example, if a candidate is taking 14 credit hours (14 units), submitting one unit a week will provide them plenty of time to finish by the end of a 16 week term.
Determining Engagement:
Consistent engagement with their courses is key to candidate success. Under the “Learner Progress” tab in Reports, there is a column titled “Last Seen Date.” This provides the last login date for each of your candidates.
We suggest that candidates should log in at least once a week to engage with coursework.
For example, if a candidate has not logged in for 2+ weeks, this is a flag to reach out and check in, especially if this is coupled with the candidate being behind on coursework.
